Ray LaMontagne - does it to me everytime
Hearing his music (which I frequently opt for on Spotify) seems to instantly send me into something of a feelings hurricane.
That's a new term: feelings hurricane. The metaphorical emotional winds are blowing, and there's often confusion and panic. It happens when something (usually music) takes me to a tumultuous mental land -- with no warning at all. Hurricane.Usually it's a food item or love and breakup songs. Hi, Adele, I'm talking to you. (There are lots of this kind of business that remind me of manfriend -- a feelings hurricane I always think I've tamed. Damn him and his similar-to-mine taste in music.)
Does that make sense at all?
Anyway, back to Ray. First of all, he's a babe:
I have a thing for beards. This we know.
Secondly, his voice is just so damn velvety. I can't think of a better word. That's what I imagine my imaginary/future soulmate's voice sounds like (unrealistic, I'm aware). It makes me want to be snuggled - hard. A couple favorites to check out:
(I really want to go to a concert - but can I handle it?)
Thirdly, I know a few people who've danced their first dance at their wedding to Ray songs. I associate it with wedding bliss...which is a whole other mental thing for me these days. Seemingly everyone I know caught this "lets get married" bug that's going around lately.
See, even now, trying to merely blog about the Ray LaMontagne feelings hurricane, I get all woman-like and lose sight of logic.
So tell me, blog friends, what things (music or otherwise), give you a feelings hurricane? Please make me feel a little less nuts.

My dad and sister love Ray and went to his concert and loved him even more! I like him just fine, but he's a little too mellow for me.
ReplyDeleteIts like he can look into my soul. I love him. There is a guy named Marc Broussard who gets me too....and Sara Bareilles:)
ReplyDeleteHe is one of my all time favorite singers...hopefully I can see him live someday!
