Happy Thanksgiving!

But really, yall. I hope all of you bloggy friends have fun and delicious Turkey days. We ran the Turkey Trot 5K and now we're cooking here at the Henry abode in Houston. Boy, are things really looking good. I'm the dessert maven this time around. One pie is made, but and I'm about to make my first ever pumpkin pie attempt. Watch out world, new pie is being added to my repertoire. I'm excited. Expect updates later. Anyway, on to the the thankful stuff...

Today, I'm feeling very blessed to have...

A healthy and loving family. As an adult, it's occurred to me in recent years that not everyone has this. I'm one of the lucky ones. Sometimes the nugget and I want to beat each other up, but really, I'm so glad to have her (and of course my parents) in my corner.

Sweet friends, especially roommate. I don't know how I would have gotten through this year without her. Partner in crime, BFF, fashion consultant, sounding board...everything. Bless her heart, there have been times when I've been a real pain in the ass. Another special shout out to my little click of best girlfriends in Austin. Thanks for filling my weeknights with walks, wine, chats and giggles. Those nights are my faves.

The Prince. Honestly, that little poodle could be my soulmate. I'm still vetting human candidates for the job, but so far he's way out front.

So much has changed since this time last year, that I really think the big three (family, friends, poodle) are really all that count to me right now. Don't get me wrong, I'm really thankful for things like Ryan Gosling, Twilight, cake balls, malbec and the like...but don't need.

I hope everyone out there in blog world (who I'm also very blessed to have) is having a fantabulous Turkey Day so far! Hearts!

  1. Love the poem! I have a really close family too and I’m so surprised that it’s not the norm, so I am especially thankful for that! Have a great day!

  4. Around five weeks before that most striking and genuine Thanksgiving Day, I had joined my significant other toward the start of what might become ten years living in Geneva, Switzerland. Happy Thanksgiving Day Images
