News.
After weeks (really) of the gypsy life, I'm ready to make an announcement....I'm officially
It's my favorite city, land of the weird, food trucks, longhorns, music and TONS more!
This is a long time coming. A LONG time coming. I've been wanting to move back for months and it's all finally happening!! Yes yes yes!!! The plan has been in motion since February-ish, but some personal life shakeups have really caused the timeline to have to get a little more squished than I'm comfortable with. But, alas, I'm putting on my big girl panties and making S*** happen.
On top of it all, I'm likely going to be moving in with one of my best friends in the history of all life in the whole wide world. She also has her own version of the Prince. You'll be meeting him soon, I bet. Puppies aside, I cannot tell you how much it means to me to get to come home to another human at night, let alone one of the handful of people on this Earth who I really think "gets me." Cheesy, I know, but it's real.Where exactly we'll be living is still a bit up in the air, but we have some solid options and should lock it up this week! Here's a glimpse:
But what about my job, you ask? I'm going to stick with my same job (for a small communications consulting agency) but WORK FROM HOME IN AUSTIN!!! At first I wasn't thrilled about it because I was worried I'd miss my amazing work buddies, but now I'm really warming up to working in my jammies everyday. Actually, I'll probably put on pants every morning, but still, it's very freeing. And, I can pop up to the office in Dallas whenever I need some quality co-worker time. It's a great arrangement for me. They also threw a little extra money my way to convince me not to take a counter offer. SCORE.
All in all, I'm thrilled, but there's one serious thing...To answer lots of your email questions (I can receive them at casey{at}poodleism{dot}com), these "personal life shakeups" relate to Manfriend.
I've long believed internet negativity is unattractive and no fun to read, so briefly: It's a whole new chapter, and the transition has been rocky..
That aside, I cannot freaking wait. It's all happening. It's. all. happening.
There are so many more exciting things to come, stick around!

That's us having a passionate late-night dance party the last time we lived together. Oh goodness.

I think it's awesome that you're doing things for you, and whatever makes you happy! I recently went through a break up, too, but you get through it by doing what you need to do for yourself. And, less than a month post break up, I feel good. I know you're gonna be there, too, especially with so many awesome things to look forward to! Go Girl!!
ReplyDeleteGood for you, girl!!
ReplyDeleteWay to let those stupid boy moments not get you down, and even inspire you to make some changes!! Wishing you the very best in Austin! I've always wanted to visit so badly and one day (hopefully soon!) I can!
Hugs for the heart too!
Can't wait to visit you in the atx! You totally deserve all these good things that are happening. Seriously so happy for you!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you're finding what will make you happy and going for it! ATX is a great place to be!
ReplyDeleteI love Austin! My in-laws live there (well, Dripping Springs/Driftwood) so I smell a meetup when I'm in town some time! Congratulations on this awesome new transition! I know that it'll be a great change of pace! Sorry about Manfriend-- indeed, his loss.
