Swan nightmares.
Yes it's true, I had nightmares last night about swans. Particularly, the bad dreams revolved around the complete and total mindF that is Black Swan.
Have you seen it? No? Well, go. It's amazing. Watch the trailer here.
I loved the movie, but it will twist your brain up in knots. I walked out of the theater completely overwhelmed, exhausted and exploding with questions. Manfriend was just as disoriented, and he's not one to really let movies get to him.
The premise is that Nina, a young ballerina (played by Natalie Portman) gets the role of her life as the Swan Queen in Swan Lake. As she's struggling with the intricacies of the role and her own growth as a ballerina, she begins to drive herself crazy. She's terrified that her understudy (played by Mila Kunis) is trying to sabotage her. So, she goes insane. Like, more than insane actually...totally cra cra. It was much more sexual and violent than I was really prepared for, but EXCELLENT. This sums up how I feel:
Natalie Portman was a genius and deserves an Oscar. Hands down. That's just it. She also snagged herself a FOXY fiance and babydaddy from this movie. She's carrying this sexpot's baby as we speak:
Anyway, get yourself out see it. Happy Monday loves!

black swan was amazing. I saw it over Christmas. The music and sound mixing to set the mood are phenomenal.
ReplyDeleteAfter hearing that both Kunis and Postman dropped a good 20 lbs to portray real ballerinas and that they trained for a year... Woah. I danced for 16 years of my life, so I am just dying to see the choreography!
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to see this movie...and I think your review just gave me the final push I needed. :)
