Super-Sized Halloween Weekend

Happy Monday! Happy November! When the heck did it get to be November? It feels like it was just summer last week!

I've just finished an action-packed amazing weekend of Halloween festivities. I seriously don't know if I'll be able to top the festive-ness and fun of the weekend ever...and Christmas is just around the corner!

Friday night all of our buddies got together for some pumpkin carving fun. There really isn't much better in my book than holiday activities with  good friends, wine and snacks. We made some of the most amazeballs jack-o-lanterns I've ever seen. Seriously, they were all super professional looking:

Saturday night was a Halloween party for the ages. Every one's costume was amazing. Manfriend and I settled on a German theme, and went as 2 Oktoberfest goers.  I like how the costumes turned out. There really isn't much funnier to me than a 6'4" man in shorts with suspenders:

While this costume turned out to be really fun and pleased us both greatlty, I do not advocate carrying around a giant glass beer mug all night. Not only did it get really heavy (I had a sore arm the next day....FML), but it holds a deceivingly LARGE amount of fluids. That may or may not be a good thing for you, but just know that dude seriously holds like 2 liters. The beer mug ate manfriend's lunch. :)

My other three favorite costumes of the night (which I'll decline to post photos of because none of the ones I caught came out very flattering or appropriate) were: Aunt Jemima (worn by a man), Brett Favre (complete with "member") and Ron Washington (manager of the Rangers, recently caught with cocaine in his system). All three were super hilarious, especially in the intimate company of a small party with close friends.

Last night, as I was driving to dinner with a friend, I took a shortcut through a fancy neighborhood and saw TRICK or TREATERS!!!! I haven't lived in a proper neighborhood in years and totally forgot about the cuteness. I seriously wanted to park my car and just watch the little goblins prance around. After further consideration, I decided that was way to creepy. But, it was flipping cute. I can't wait to prance my little tots around on Halloween night.

I hope everyone's having a superfab Monday so far! If you're feeling like you need some new blog buddies, go check out Mingle Monday over at Life of Meg! She does an awesome blog hop and its a great way to make new friends! Ch-ch-check it out!

  2. Seriously, I feel like I still have summer's sweet tan and its already November. What the eff!!

    Loved the costumes!!!

And we get trick or treaters in our hood...its quite amusing when 20-somethings come around not dressed up asking for some treats. Sigh!

  4. I'm surprised there aren't any pictures of the Prince in the festivities. I spent much too long trying to figure out what the pumpkins spelled out.. not my finest moment.

  5. Sounds like a great weekend! Who would of thought lederhosen would come in handy two weekends in a row? That's worth the purchase!
