Finally here! And Wee Bit about Me

Hi! I finally made it to my Seattle adventure! All I've had time to do is pick up a car and get to my hotel. At first blush, this place is so TWILIGHT-y that it's just strange. I've never been to this part of the country, and the terrain is like nothing I've ever seen. Water, mountains and LOTS of pine trees. Chuy, we aren't in Texas anymore. Driving in I saw a view like this:

It's so Twilight-y I can barely stand it.

And drove over this:
This bridge is floating! FLOATING! It probably didn't look this treacherous today, but I felt like it did. Wondering why the water was so high and the wind was blowing so hard, I went to the google machine to learn about it - and found out about this whole floating bridge business. WHOA. They do engineer stuff in Seattle, I'd always heard that.

Anyway, more photos to come. I'm so freaking excited to be here.  On to your regularly scheduled blog business:

How 'bout a little blog hop to get your Wednesday afternoon going?

{one} do you collect anything? if so, what and how long have you been collecting?
Nail Polish. I love a home mani. I'm bizarrely committed to keeping my nails colors that are season appropriate. I've been collecting for years. And I will not stand for a single chipped nail. I'm in a hotel room right now with a nail imperfection and it's killing me. Color of the week (really, more like 3 days):

{two} what is one cleaning tip that you swear by?  Clorox wipes will clean anything. And do. You should use them. I'm obsessed with keeping the countertops potless and germless. They're perfect.

{three} who would you call for bail money?
Manfriend. Although chances are he's probably next to me.

{four} what is one thing you miss about being a kid?
I miss not knowing about things that are bad and serious in the world. I miss the days when I thought that the worst thing that exists in the world are piano lessons.

{five} name a few of your guilty pleasures.
If you've been tuned in you may know: Cheese. Enough on that; another one is trashy television. For example, Teen Mom. Loves Teen Mom.
{six} how early do you start your holiday shopping?
I start my holiday thinking pretty early, like in October. If history is any indication, I will not begin taking any real holiday actions until the last possible moment, when it's trafficy, crazy and stressful. That's just how I do.

{seven} what is a family tradition that you would like to pass on to your significant other/children?
In my family we see both sides. We spend time with both dad and my mom's sides of the family on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. There's a lot of driving involved, but it's totally worth it. I want my future spouse and babies to get to have it all too.

{eight} what do you consider your greatest achievement? That's a toughie. Honestly, however small it may be (and I think I've already mentioned this), I'm most proud of the Prince. I got him as a college graduation present and I've kept him alive, happy and taught him some stuff in the process. He made me grow up and I helped him grow up. He's definitely delivered me some challenges along the way. He's my most prized possession and companion.

{nine} what do you do to pamper yourself?
I don't spend a whole lot of money on it, but I'd say getting my hair done. I love laying back in the shampoo chair and just soaking in the smells and head massaging. Also, my hair guy is someone I really like to gab with.

{ten} if you were to start your own restaurant, what would it be called?
Hmmm.....It would probably a place where you could get my two favorite things: wine and baked treats. I don't know about a name would probably have to something short and to the point, like "Tasty" or "Pleasures" or "Luscious."

Thanks for reading! More about Seattle coming!

  1. getting your hair done is definitely one of the greatest pleasure ever!

  2. love nail polish!

  3. Hey Kasey, Jamie Lee here from your PC. I think I came across your blog via FB but I like it a lot. Anyway, after reading about the restaurant you would open, I felt compelled to comment. I don't know how often you go to NYC, but the next time you're there you should check out Oro Bakery and Bar if you haven't already. I was pretty much obsessed when I went. I mean wine and baked goods in one adorable little place!! It was quite fabulous. Here's a link:

Enjoy your Seattle trip! I've always wanted to visit.

  4. Eeeek, I realized I spelled you name with a K on accident. Blogs should really invent an undo button. I'm sorry!! And now I feel like I'm stalking you.

  5. It is totally Twilighty! I love it!

  6. hey, that's my home! i'm in seattle & yeah, it pretty much rocks here. this post made me proud :)
