Mac n Cheese - mommy like.
Today, I'm a little short on post ideas. Actually, this week the ole "creative genius well" has been a little dry. I attribute this to crazy work week, bootcamp and a migraine in the mix.
With that in mind, absolutely the only thing on my mind is the macaroni and cheese in my future. Literally, I'm salivating right now as I type. Normally this is the kind of reaction reserved for red wine and choco treats, but not today. I have mac on the brain and I can't escape.
Here's some context. Lately (as in like the last 3 months) I've been trying to really get my butt in shape. So, I've been doing this diet. Admittedly, it's been a loose adherence, but a lot of luxuries have been cut out. This gives me the grouches, but beauty is pain, after all. Last week, something just came into my mind that I needed some delicious mac n' cheese. I don't think I've had any since sometime last fall. (This is a big deal. In my former life, this tasty treat was a staple item and I ate a cup of Easy Mac most days). I'm a grown up with grown up hips. The mac had to go.

Last week, I just thought to myself, "eff this, you only live once." So I bought it for manfriend and I to enjoy. Things came up, stuff happened, and the box wasn't ever touched. I've been thinking about that little blue box in the pantry for almost 10 days now. Today is the day. It's a special treat and I couldn't be more ecstatic. I hope I don't relapse.
I'm embarassed that I just combed the entire interwebs for blog inspiration and with every click I just thought more about the mac. I might be relapsing already....

I'm not sure what is in the air today, but I had a cheese craving myself and helped myself to a nice bag of Cheetos from the vending machine. This leaves me to wonder, "Is lack of self control going to be considered a pre-existing condition for health insurance?"

Now I am craving mac and cheese, and I actually just had it the other day. Can't go wrong with it though, it is very tastey and I could eat it almost anytime. I make it with fat free milk, and leave out the butter, and it tastes ok to me and helps a little with the fat content. Of course it is always better with regular milk and lots of butter =)
ReplyDeleteDon't feel bad. I ate an entire family bag of pretzel m+m's a few nights ago...and I think I could do it again. Sigh
ReplyDeleteGirl. I'm knocked up. So I crave (and pretty much consume) everything around me. Pastas and greasy foods are what make my heart pitter patter and my ass jiggle jiggle.
ReplyDeletepink velvet cupcakes. it's a not-so-choco version of the red velvet and no matter how full i am (let's get one thing straight, i'm never full) i will always put them away in record time.
